My favorite is when septarian has both chocolate colored aragonite and yellow calcite crystals with a great turtle shell patterned rock back. It's a bonus when they also remind me of those 70's hanging egg seats! In fact, that's the genre of music that Renee' and I listen to on our website posting days. 2020 needs more Fleetwood Mac!
The eggs do need some kind of a stand if you want to display them. We do sell plastic stands on the website, but vintage napkin ring holders also look fantastic as sphere and egg stands. I've seen Laurel, our talented display artist for the store, use black aquarium gravel to nuzzle septarian eggs into for a dramatic look as well. I think I'd want to put them on a display with an actual nest, some black gravel or sand to stabilize it, and a bunch of tiny dragons snuggled up with it. My style is "Boho Jurassic".
Although often called septarian nodules, this sedimentary rock is more technically a concretion. A concretion is a spherical, egg shaped, or irregular mass that forms around a nucleus. They often develop radial cracks that get filled in by other minerals. Their geological formation is still a matter of debate. Madagascan septaria are gray to brown limestone with yellow calcite and brown to black aragonite. Some pieces have colorless baryte. The name septarium (plural septaria) comes from the Latin septum (“partition”).
Metaphysically, septarians are fantastic during healing work that requires drawing energy out of various areas. It also would be useful in seeing the patterns of a larger picture, especially as it relates to how past events or situations may have created patterns of energy that need to be detoxed from the system. Septarians that are egg shaped are associated with dragon energy, life, creation, the birth of new projects, partnerships, and accessing ancient wisdom.
Calcite and aragonite are minerals that tend to be very nurturing to humans. I believe it's because we share resonance within our bodies with this mineral family. I call the calcite family the "Fairy Godmothers" of the mineral kingdom because they have that "we want you to be warm, safe, dry, and comfortable" kind of vibe. Calcite isn't a tough love stone, it's a knee kisser. When you need knee kissing, you kinda just need it, right?
Golden yellow calcite will activate the solar plexus and support you to use your personal will in highest service to your life's goals with positive confidence. If you need to redirect your will to more supportive habits or behavior, yellow calcite supported by the dark aragonite crystals can add a detox of old patterns of behavior with grounding and stabilizing into new patterns. My favorite association with septarians is that even when the conditions of life shatter us, nature has a way of filling us back up beautifully.
