Amethyst is a form of quartz. It naturally occurs in crystal form and is found in a large range of shapes, cuts, and hues. These transparent, prismatic crystals, known as druze, can be found in clusters, or in a nodular stone, commonly known as a geode. The use of Amethyst can be traced back as far as its findings within the remains of the Neolithic man.
Amethyst is calming and soothing. It is thought to create a protective energy field around its keeper and transmutes negative energies. It is a stone of spiritual expansion and is associated with the crown chakra.
