I love the shape of this Petrified Wood Slab!
This piece is from Madagascar. It is Arakaria wood and the tree it came from was living over 65 million years ago.
The rich color is evidence of mineral replacement, including iron, manganese, and silica.
Look closely and you can see where crystals have formed in the cracks of the petrified wood.
Polished on one side, with the other left to remain as it was found, this is a spectacular slab!
