Malachite is one of the most recognizable stones due to its rich green color and telltale banding. It is one of the copper colored minerals that often kanoodle together in specimens, such as with azurite and chrysocolla. It was once used as an ore of copper for the making of tools and weapons, but it is far more valuable in this age for other purposes, such as jewelry, specimens, and pigments.
Metaphysically, malachite is used to strengthen, amplify, and reveal that which has been hidden from awareness or view. This makes malachite a particularly useful element in crystal work that involves doing deep inner healing and shadow work, past life work, or divination. The bands are associated with levels or layers of energy, information, or depths of self. Those bands which create bulls eyes and circles can be associated with protection, sacred site, and wholeness.
