This piece of Madagascar Elestial Quartz has small and large terminations growing out of it from every angle! When propped up on a stand, both the shape of the piece and etchings resemble a fish!
Elestial Quartz (also known as Skeletal Quartz) is the name given to various types of quartz all of which have formed with terminations or points covering every surface in a layered or etched pattern. This is the result of unstable conditions during the crystallization process.
Within the crystal, plainly visible cavities in geometric patterns can sometimes contain clay minerals of varied colors. The cavities can even include carbon dioxide and water displaying both the liquid and gas phase of formation. This is visible even to an unaided eye with the appearance of a moving water bubble. This is known as an “enhydro”. Look hard enough and you might find one in this piece!
The cavities within the quartz often have a layered or ribbed aspect seemingly hollow giving rise to the term “skeletal quartz”. Most elestials are found in either Madagascar or Brazil. Elestial Quartz is said to heal emotions and balance the heart and mind. It is a symbol of Divine Love.
